It was my birthday party August 4th. Sixteen candles. It was fun and exhausting and went by just too fast. I loved my cake and didn't forget to make a wish this year (forgetting to make a birthday wish is one of the worst feelings ever, I know). We played a mummy game, where everyone teamed up and saw who could wrap the the other person in toilet paper, first. My sister and her boyfriend the Brad-ster won. My sister- man oh man. How I love thee. ;)
Some people swam after the official party was over, and we all tried this water massage thing that jiggled our legs and left everyone feeling tense rather than relaxed. But even that was pretty darn hilarious.
I got some pretty sweet gifts, including a hand-crocheted dolphin, a cute dress and change purse, some awesome books (one of which I'm totally immersed in: The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Read it) and a Rangers shirt and Cap. Yes folks, my first Ranger gear. I am now half Texan- (all I have to do to gain my other half is actually go to a game). ;)
Sweet friends, sweet cake, and sweet laughter. Not to mention a month of high-stress planning. Gee, sixteen already...
Also, yesterday, me and the lovely Alana and our moms went to the magnificent World Aquarium and had a blast to the third power. It was goorrggeeous! My camera is dead at the moment, but fear not for I will make an album on facebook of the trip (as well as an album for the other party pictures). Just to show you how cool it was: We got our picture with a manatee. For those of you who aren't that familiar with me: The Florida Manatee, Trichechus manatus Iatirostris, is my favorite animal. The one at the aquarium was the Antillean manatee, but it looked identical to the Florida manatee, so it was basically the same thing. And to think, I was only the width of the tank glass away from it!
This thursday we are planning to head to the coast and camp on the beach. If this turns out, and does happen, I swear I'll be the happiest person on earth. If it doesn't, I'll still probably be the happiest person on earth.
