Last night (friday) was the winter concert/get up and play music thing at the generator coffee shop that some cool kids from my school do. I arrived, got some $1.25 rasberry herbal tea, quickly scorched my tongue and enjoyed some bob dylan, leonard cohen, the shinns, and a whole heck of other songs with loud lyrics. The seats and chairs were (mostly) taken so some fellow friends and I took up the floor. Front row seats, baby. The music was nice. Talent, talent, talent. People got into it and they bobbed their heads like buoys in a sea of heads. Well not really a sea. Maybe a pond. There weren't that many people.
Then, the generator closed. And the owner said vamoose and so we vamoosed to across the street where, in the summer that pond like thing is (the square), and they set up their equipment like electric piano, bass, guitar(s), drums, etc., and they played there. It was jazz. It was definitely move with groove, not sit and watch music so we got up and danced in the emptied pond. It was a sunken in dance floor. Of course, jazz is hard to dance to, so we all probably looked like penguins with hurt feet, but that's not the point.
And the best part was that it felt like summer- and for a moment I actually believed it was.
